Official statement of the National Commission for Human Rights - Libya Number 75 of year 2015, urgent call for the international Human Rights Council to convene in an emergency session, to discuss the dangerous conditions developments in Sirte.

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya, calls on the international Human Rights Council to hold an emergency session to discuss the developments of the current serious situation in the city of Sirte, as well as to discuss ways to protect civilians in the city and from the genocide and violations being committed by the hands of the terrorist organization of " Daash/ISIS/ISIL " and from other terrorist crimes, which have led to the deaths of dozens of victims, the killing of women, wounded civilians (including in hospitals), the burning and destruction of civilian homes, and the forced displacement of many civilians in the area.

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya, calls the International Council for Human Rights to take urgent measures to stop the brutal massacres committed by the terrorist organization "Daash/ISIS/ISIL", against the civilians population in Sirte, as to the UN resolutions No. 1970_1973 /2011 regarding the protection of civilians in Libya.

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya places the full responsibility equally on; The International Council for Human Rights, Arbitration Politics and Strategic Studies / (ICHAPS), and on The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights / OHCHR, to assume full legal responsibility towards the crimes and massacres committed against civilians in Libya, by the terrorist organization of (Daash / ISIS / ISIL), and the predominance of aggravated crimes of this terrorist organization, the suffering of the civilian population in Libya over the past four years at the hands of terrorist organizations and armed groups, and the overal increase of similar indicators, due to the ambiguous positions adobted by the United Nations human rights institutions. 

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya warns about the real risk for the further deteriorating of the humanitarian situation in the city of Sirte, and of the serious repercussions resulting from the control of the terrorist organization "Daash/ISIS/ISIL" over the city.
